Copper Canyon Mexico, Anyone been?
« on: February 19, 2010, 12:55:20 AM »

A bunch of us are thinking of riding down to Los Mochis from Phoenix and taking the train to Cooper Canyon. We are leaving the bikes at a compound near Los Mochis, anyone done this, any suggestions, pitfalls etc? Timing April 12, or 18th.

Thanks,

Geezer, Abbynormal and I spent 6 days backpacking across Copper Canyon Mexico. It was a grueling, wonderful, magical experience. Abby (Leanne) wrote a nice story about our experience. You can read in its entirety by following this link. If the link fails, PM me and I will send an email with the story. We were able to see the Canyon in a way unavailable to folks on wheels. Without the Tarahumara Indian guides, you would not survive the crossing.
