I have a Mac and am running Garmin Road Trip for my GPS program utilizing a Garmin Zumo 550......
How do I save a route or file to transfer it here or send it to a friend with a Zumo? 
I can't seem to figure it out.

I moved your thread here because the board "GPS Routes !!Maps Only!!" is to post maps only and it doesn't let members other then the original poster/thread starter post in a thread they didn't start. I don't own/use a Mac, but it should be a "save" or "save as" feature just like any other program. Once you save the file then you can add it as an attachment here, or email to your friend so they may load it in there Zumo.

I can't seem to figure it out.

Go to "File" and then "Export Folder".  Export it to your Desktop, for simplicity.  It will be named "folder_name.GPX".  You can then attach that file to your email to send to a friend for sharing.  I have had good experiences using my Mac on the Harley Ride Planner and then sharing with friends who have Macs' or PCs' for group rides.
