I remember when I was very young and naïve, arguing about things like this was common. Then the school of hard knocks beat some real world common sense into my head, and I finally figured out that being right but dead wasn't all that great.
A motorcyclist has no more business weaving in and out of traffic than any other driver of any type of vehicle. The big difference, however, is that the idiot who does it in a car or truck will have much higher odds of surviving compared to the idiot who does it on a bike. An intelligent rider understands that visibility is his greatest friend when traveling the highways, and making quick darting moves from lane to lane, or trying to slide between cars, or riding in someone's blind spot, is not terribly bright. Yes, cage drivers need to be more aware of bikes and give them respect. But that doesn't mean biker's don't still have the main portion of the responsibility for their own safety. And just like flipping the bird at a gang banger who happens to be holding a Mac 10 isn't a brilliant idea, pissing off a cage driver by cutting between and around him in traffic and perhaps precipitating a little road rage incident isn't terribly bright either. Kind of like taking a knife to a gunfight, if you know what I mean.
Vent all you want about the dipsticks we all see every day cruising in their cages and totally oblivious to everything around them. I'm right there with you. But don't let yourself be killed or maimed because you are determined to exercise your "rights".
