There are commonly two versions of the heel guards availalble.  One that stands up beside the footboard and continues wrapping around behind it.  The other stands up beside the boards and continues to the rear a bit turning staight down beside it.

That latter type is what I've used on a few bikes for a long time.  I mistakenly got one of the other type (that wrap behind the foot board) once and hated it.  Because it is above board level and standing behind it you lose a lot of space in which you can move your foot.  The guards that stay parallel to the inside of the board still keep you off the pipe.  They just do so without blocking any front to rear travel for places you might want to rest your foot.

these all work well, but what about the passenger?  I have not seen anything decent for the Ironside collection for the passenger floorboards.

Any thoughts?

Twolanerider,  The Heel Guard Rails that DO NOT wrap the heel and what are shown in the photos, do you have a Mfg and Part# for them?
