Well my 06 CVO Ultra does NOT have a Road Tech 660. What is NIM? How does it work? How does the unit work?
Right now I have The SMH-10 unit on my helmets. I BT my phone to the Zumo 550, and BT the 550 to my helmet. In this way I can use the 550 to dial my phone. For music I BT my iPod to my helmets 2nd channel. Rider to passanger is wireless intercom. I am looking to BT with other systems so I can talk with riders who have Scala and Chatterbox.
Will this unit do that for me?
Thanks
Since you have a 550 and not a 660 or 665 then you are not using the (Navigation Interface Module) NIM. Not having the NIM means that the channel (input) on the radio is not being used and can be used for the Bluetooth phone interface.
The problem you will have is the phone interface is designed to sync to a phone and output the signal to the radio (via a wired circuit). You can not use a Bluetooth helmet setup with the Harmon Kardon radio. You can not sync the Bluetooth interface to your GPS or your Sena headset (only to a phone). Even if you got them to sync the Bluetooth interface is not bi directional, in other words it will receive a Bluetooth signal but it does not transmit a Bluetooth signal. It uses a wired output circuit. Read the installation instruction for the NIM, it will only sync to a phone (and not all phones) it will only output its signal to the radio (via a wired circuit). In order to use it you have to use the wired headset.
Of course it is your money and maybe I do not understand exactly how you plan to use it since you are now using Bluetooth to make and take phone calls via the GPS Bluetooth feature. To me it will not work with your current setup.
