I asked a dealer this myself years ago because of the inflated price over other models. I ask if all the SE parts came in the SE models?? This was before they called them CVO!!!!!   i.e SE cam plate, SE clutch hub, SE compenator, SE pushrods etc. and they looked at me and laughed and asked if I was serious!

i agree the price is very steep...my '08 fxdse had some features that i liked over the other fxd models:  inverted forks, fork-mounted tach, ignition switch on dash, security, good two-up seat, great flame paint job, etc.

the main reason i got it was i wanted the 4" bore without splitting the cases...i then proceeded to put together the performance upgrades that are listed in my signature...i have 13k miles on it and no leaks, oil blowby, excessive heat, or signs of crank runout

for those not interested in major performance upgrades, a good exhaust system, air cleaner, fi controller, and tune usually gives 95hp/115tq sae, and that's great power for not a lot of trouble!
