Speaker Pod Holes - TP Antenna Post covers
« on: April 17, 2010, 06:02:21 PM »

Hello, anyone out there with any recommendations for plugging the holes left void by no speaker pods and what if anything to cover antenna posts if there are no antennas on them.  Any advice or suggestion would be appreciated.

Thanks

How about vest pins (lots of options there)or the CVO Coin sold on this site, or the new HOG Challenge Coins. Attach the pins with a backing or just clear silicone.

You can buy various sized plastic plugs at most auto parts stores. I cut off the ribbed points and used silicone adhesive on my black extra king t/p. Looks ok, not great, but not bad either. H.D. also sells plugs but you'll pay too much for them.

I just used a rubber vacuum plug to cover the posts in case I wanted to reinstall the antennas.

I use automotive vacuum plugs for the antennas, though you could disassemble the antenna mount, remove the threaded studs, and reinstall the antenna bases while filling the holes with black/chrome/color-matched plastic plugs of an appropriate size.  My tour pak is not on the bike that much to tackle the project, however.

Plastic plugs work for the speaker pod holes which is what I use.  As mentioned, not great, but serviceable.

I found black plastic plugs at my local hardware store.I believe they were called computer plugs they come in various sizes like mentioned above a little silicone and good to go. My tour-pak is dark colored so colr wasnt an issue but you could always use a little touch up on them.
