Anyone have experience with "Airlite" brand soft lowers?
« on: April 16, 2010, 11:10:32 PM »

Just read a message from a buddy offering a set of Airlite soft fairing lowers that would fit the SERG.  It's almost time of the year that its lowers would come off until October.  I'd like some soft lowers to carry with the bike for crappy weather.

Don't know this product though.  Found only fleeting references elsewhere on the site.  Anyone else been there and done that?  Good kit?

My wife and I both have the airlite soft lowers for our bikes. She has a softail heritage and I have a SERK. The quality and fit are perfect. I would recommend them to anyone.

Thanks. From an image I'm seeing it looks lime it has a bug mesh across the middle. Is that correct?

It is a terrific product.  I have it on a 2009 serg.  Can be ordered with or without holes for highway pegs.  Can also order with or without pockets that close with velcro.  The center is mesh for engine ventilation.  I had them on all winter and never wore chaps.  Easier to install than the instructions indicated.

The set I was offered have cutouts for pegs but don't have pockets.  For 40 bucks I'm giving them a shot.  Interested to see how small they'll fold.

Actually prefer the look of the bike with the lowers on.  But 6-7 months of the year it's a bit warm that way.  Will be nice to have something to throw on when day turns in to cooler evening or when the rains come.
