I was curious whether the active military can purchase CVO's at a discount? I'm not and haven't been in the military but wish they had the benefit.

The active military can only purchase Harley Davidson motorcycles while overseas (Iraq, Afghanistan, Germany, Korea) by using the AAFES Military Sales Program.



The bad part of the program is that you will pay MSRP.

Yes active military or civilian contractors can buy H-D's at at discounted price while over seas its actually called Overseas Military Sales Exchange however the CVO's are not discounted. I was in Taji Iraq in 2005 and bought a Dyna WGI 13,400 from them, then in 2007 I bought an Ultra 17660, they come with the 5 yr extended plan and security system. Iam currently in Baghdad I looked at buying a CVO Ultra and they priced it at 37999, I was home on R&R in Februray and the Dealer sold me the 2010 Ultra for 32,500 and they gave me 15500 for trade in on 2007 Ultra 48k miles.
But its like anything else you gotta price shop and dont settle for the first price they shoot you try to haggle a little and see if they bite.

I'd be in favor of discounting any Harley even the CVO for the great sacrifice they make daily so we can all ride our Harley's in freedom!!

I bought my 09 through AAFES $2K under MSRP.  Another bonus is you do not pay any sales tax!

The sad truth is : there are a large number of harley dealerships that don't like to deal with military. One of the HUGE reasons is that they don't make nearly the profit with the aafes sales, the other is that the majority of military(active) that buy harleys don't make as much as the average harley owner( in 2008 it was just under $90,000  http://investor.harley-davidson.com/demographics.cfm ) In general as an active member of the military I RARELY feel welcome at any harley dealership that I've been in that was near a military installation.

The last stealership I asked for a military discount the prts counter guy said "No, what do you want me to pay for your parts out of my pocket? That's what your "Discount" would be like
