bUS Er code
« on: August 29, 2010, 11:54:12 PM »

I was coming home on the last day of a 4000 mile trip in the middle of nowhere New Mexico Saturday when my speedometer and tachometer suddenly quit working and all of the idiot lights came on.  As I coasted down a hill I turn off the bike and restarted it.  The lights on the dash were off but the tach and speedo still didn't work, and in place of the odometer reading it said "bUS Er".  I went about 30 more miles and stopped to get gas.  When I restarted the bike the speedo and tach now worked and the bUS Er was gone and everything worked.  Anyone know what "bUS Er" means?

Similar situation a couple years ago. Bike would start and cut off after about 5 seconds. "Jiggled wires to tach and everything worked again. Wire inside tach was loose and breaking connection. Tightened connector and everything fine since. (Had to call dealer to find out what code meant)
