Tourpak Lift Kit
« on: April 27, 2010, 11:55:21 AM »

Sorry if this has been discussed before, I searched the thread content and couldn't find it. I put a taller seat on my 2000 SERG and I found the extra holes in the trunk to move it back on the TP frame. This gave my passenger more legroom. She also has a complaint that with the chopped trunk and the raised seat, now the top of the backrest hits her squarely in the middle of her back. I was going to fabricate some way to lift the trunk higher off the frame and I am wondering if someone may already have a kit fabricated for this. Thanks in advance for the input. - SixdayJ

Have seen hardware for front-to-back changes.  Never seen hardware for up-and-down changes though.  King tour pak or spacer and longer screws?  Just want to be sure and not put bolt sized spacer stock directly against the tour pak.  Need to spread the weight against it.

a reloc kit like the one from george anderson will also lift the tour-pak up

looks like it will get you between 3/4" and 1" of height

Forgot all about the thickness of that kit.  Haven't had one in hand for a couple years.  Don't remember how thick it is though.  .75"-ish?  Wonder if that's enough for someone's back to notice the difference in the backrest pad?

Guyz, Thanx for the replies. I love this site!!   :orange: :bananarock:  I spoke with George this afternoon, nice guy. For the record, he says it lifts it 5/8". I think I'll send him some business and shim it another 1/2" or so. Thanx again!! :2vrolijk_21:

When tour paks are added to police model EG's, the tour pak is raised about 1" to provide clearance for the police saddlebags to open due to the hinges used on the cop bags.  On mine, hard rubber automotive bushings sandwiched between 1/4" stainless steel washers of similar diameter worked fine; longer bolts are needed as well.
