Passanger intercom extension spring
« on: April 20, 2010, 09:01:11 AM »

Has anyone experienced the spring developing rust inside the plastic sleeve? If I do not make a point to dry the spring out after a wash it will drip rust water onto the saddle bag lid. Should this be happening?

Yep mine did. I took it off. I thought it looked like a POS on a very expensive bike. Another engineering marvel.

I went one step further and removed the wire itself!  Rarely take a passenger and if I do they can shout if they want to talk... Otherwise sit back, relax and enjoy the ride taking in the beautiful countryside!  :2vrolijk_21:

Thanks for the replies just wanted to make sure I was not the only one that had rust on a $35,000 bike. Unfortunatedly the wife likes the intercom so I just leave mine un-plugged when I want silence.

Don't get in trouble and just turn off the intercom right in middle of  :soapbox:, she won't like it. (don't ask how I know this)  :drink:
