Advice Please on my 05 FatBoy Sheet Metal
« on: April 21, 2010, 01:35:08 PM »

Very soon after taking delivery of my 05 FatBoy, I purchased new fenders and gas tank and had a custom paint job done (not very fancy and pictured below) which I have now grown tired of and would like to change. I have the original parts and they are FatBoy Anniversary parts. If I get a new paint job, am I giving up anything by using the original (anniversary) fenders and tank? They are new and would make better starting parts for the new paint but I feel I might be giving up something. Personally I don't think there is a big demand out there but would appreciate and value your collective advice. Thanks as always. Ed

Unless your current parts are beat to hell. they'll be equally as good to repaint. Either parts are going to have to be sanded down in prep. I would repaint the current parts and keep the anniversary stuff. I don't really know if the anni paint is "worth" any extra money but why destroy a nice looking paint set? JMHO
