XM Module Help...
« on: April 22, 2010, 07:13:17 PM »

Hey all... installed the XM module today and still no luck with it showing up when I turn the thing on. I have verified I have the right overlay harness, everything seems to be hooked up right etc. When I turn the thing on and go to the input select (AM/FM/Aux/Etc) their is no XM.

Read the instructions again and seem like I did everything right... did I miss something?

Would you need the Digital Technician (dealer/shop) to flash something in your radio so it will recognize the XM module? :nixweiss:

You need to connect the power lead to the overlay harness. Comes from interconnect cable is located on left side of radio looking at back of radio.

XM, CB, and Navi modules do not need to be flashed by dealer. They communicate with the radio via a CAN BUS data line. The radio is the can master. As soon as the module is connected (providing the wiring is correct and the module is good) it will auto detect and show up in the system.
