How was traffic crossing the dam?  We're planning on doing that in a few weeks.

How close is that bypass bridge to being done? In December 09 still had quite a lot to do.

  Timing is everything.  I had an early start Friday, April 16, leaving Phoenix prior to 4:30AM.  This put me at the Check Point on the Arizona side just prior to 9:30AM.  No waiting!

  My return to Phoenix began Sunday, April 18, just after 10:00AM.  The tourist traffic was heavy!  I was in stop-n-go traffic for one hour and ten minutes prior to arriving at the Check Point on the Nevada side.  Add twenty-five minutes to actually cross the Dam and you begin to understand.

  I have crossed the Dam more than fifty times during the previous sixteen years.  My advice, which I failed to follow on my return trip, is to steer clear on weekends.  Expect significant delays from Friday afternoon through Monday mid-morning.
