Picking up the springer tomorrow after a few motor mods....
« on: April 29, 2010, 07:42:14 PM »

Hey everyone,

I am heading down tomorrow to Alabama to pick up my Springer. I purchased it a few months back and took it down to get the crank trued/balanced/welded, timken, tw8 cam, heads, big radius 2-1 pipe, pc5 etc. He has had it about 6 weeks and I am dying to finally get out and ride the bike. I only put about 25 miles on it prior to me taking down for the build. I hope to get back tomorrow before the rain hits so I can at least ride it a little. I will have to carry it back down there in a few months for a dyno once the motor is broke in. I plan on carrying another bike down there after sturgis and will likely wait until then to get it dyno'd. Man I can't wait.....I'm like a kid at Christmas.  :apple: :jalapeno: :cucumber: :pepper:

looking forward to hearing how it goes, i'm deciding what mods to do to mine, high on the list is the 2-1 big radius. Lets see some pics when its done. What made you choose the BR 2 - 1 pipes?

I decided on the BR 2-1 just because I have one on my dyna and I like it. I really wanted to do Rhinehart 2-2 exhaust but was told by a vendor that they wouldn't fit the se springer. Unfortunately he didn't know what he was talking about because I saw a set of them installed on a se springer last weekend at a poker run. Of all the 2-1 pipes though I just like the styling of the BR the best.

It was built by Rods performance in Hanceville Al. He has done two builds for me and he does excellent work.

yeah I don't have any idea of where the power is on this one. We went with a relatively mild build on it. I'ld say somewhere in the 110-120 range.

yeah I had just unloaded it off the trailer. I had been driving for 500 miles round trip to pick it up. Don't worry I put my boots on prior to riding it this afternoon.  :bananarock:

Just got in from the first real ride on the bike since I bought it. I only was able to squeeze in about 40 miles because we have had a HUGE amount of rain and flooding in our area this weekend. I am very pleased with the bike. Other than some softer seat foam and taller handle bars I really like the bike. I can see me riding this bike alot in the future.
