HID Dual Bulb Headlamp Kit (68094-06A)
« on: February 14, 2006, 03:43:25 PM »

Let me make sure I am correct on this, the FLHTCUSE comes with a Dual Bulb Halogen Headlamp Kit (67864-04):

http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/gma_product.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524448767321&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374309042516&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374309042516&bmUID=1139949381734&bmLocale=en_US

and not a

High Intensity Discharge (HID) Dual Bulb Headlamp Kit (68094-06A):

http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/gma_product.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524448768343&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374309042516&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374309042516&bmUID=1139949381734&bmLocale=en_US

The reason I ask is because the salesman I am working with at the dealer tells me the SE-UC already has the High Intensity Discharge (HID) and I don

No-rain, you're right on the money.  The salesman doesn't know squat.  Is this the same guy that wants to keep your $2,500 if you pass???

No-rain, you're not that far from Peoria and they have a crimson/charcoal sitting on the floor right now for MSRP.  They are a stand-up dealer, IMHO.  Food for thought.

They got it in right around Christmas.  I saw it in the fairly decent lighting of their shop for the first time and looked at it pretty hard, but did not see any issues.  Since then, it's been in their showroom where the lighting is darker, so I haven't scrutinized it much while it's been in there.  I'd be more than happy to go check it out a little closer for you, though.  I'll shoot you a PM with some more information in case you want to contact them.

Is the HID bulb that big of an improvement? Is it worth the money
as far as the benefits you get in lighting?  This is the most expensive
web sight I have ever used!

Air, do a search on HID.  There are a couple of threads here in the SEUC section on it and I did a write-up in the SEEG section.  Any questions after reading up, respond in one of those threads.

HID is not standard as stated by the salesman.

It is however GREAT, especially if you ride in the booneys like I do.
