Police saddlebag hinges
« on: May 14, 2010, 12:11:43 AM »

Hello everyone.

I am brand new to the group and need your help. I am the proud father of a 2007 FLHTPI with
a screamin eagle 103 . I am looking to upgrade the hinges on my police bags . I was told the hinges from the tour pack are not the same. can someone point me in the right direction.

Thanks

Just read you question in PM.  Answered there.  A bunch of guys from an FLHPI group have asked about these hinges and have used a nice billet hinge made by a guy you can email at dickelk@aol.com .

Just saw the follow up PM saying Dick was no longer making those hinges.  You might try some tour pak hinge even though it seems it's been suggested to you they won't work.  A bunch of the guys with cop bikes that contacted me previously used those hinges on their bags.  And those hinges were originally tended for tour paks.  So at least those pieces worked in both places.

That is good to know that they will work. I didn't want to go through the effort of taking them off then not have the  right hinge
to re-attach them.  If you do ever send out for a group  purchase of hinges keep me in mind.
Thank you again for the help .

Can't speak to any other hinges.  But do know that Dick Pomeroy's did.  It's possibly that he machined his slightly differently than the OE parts or something.  But at least those hinges worked on both tour paks and police saddlebags.
