Read about that a couple days after.  Never able to tell from the article whether leaving the bike was his choice or physics.  Glad to read he was relatively unscathed though.

As I understand the story, his throttle stuck open....  Hand surgery to pin some bones together and shoulder surgery for a tear.  But all things considered...very lucky...

No doubt.  The article I read said the bike fenced at 200+.  Wrist and shoulder compared to riding that out to the end you'd have to bet he'll take everyday.
