Very Sick 2010 SESG. Blown Engine?
« on: May 25, 2010, 03:34:41 PM »

 :(
I have Steve's X-pipe and 2" cores on my bike. I have used Steve's Map for my configuration.  Was riding this past Saturday and was decelerating (downshifting) to a stop and my partner behind me pulled up and said that smoke was coming out of my mufflers. It was billowing out, not dark but white smoke. I pulled off the road and shut her down. I went to check the engine oil level and as I was opening the filling port I could hear it hiss, like when we used to open a radiator cap under pressure. The oil itslef looked OK and was at proper level.

Set for a while, saying some best not repeated words and grinding my teeth. Decided to start her up to see how she ran.  She fired right up and no more smoke out pipes. However the oil pressure gage was pegged to 80+. I decided to get back home as slowly as I could and she is now waiting to be picked up by my dealer. I will remap to stock before the get her. There is a lot of noise coming out of the engine new as well.

Any ideas as to what may be happening?

Sounds like an oil pump. I had an oil pump on a bike go out a few years ago when it was on a dyno run. 4 quarts exited the bike in about 3 seconds.
Just a guess. Good luck and let us know what gives.
