well, that's kewl, and it looks good on your bike too!  you did a nice job of it !

I need more protection than that, so I have a detach windshield, which I very seldom ride without ..... if I ride without, it's only a short trip to run to town or something... never leave home on a 'TRIP' without it  ..

of course the bike looks much better WITHOUT it, but riding nekid on the open highway isn't very comfortable   :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2:

Oh make no mistake--this thing doesn't provide any wind protection that I can tell.  It's strictly all about style.  And I have a quick-detach windshield, also.  Can't use it with the visor fairing in place, though.  So it sometimes becomes a form vs. function battle.

Maybe someone down here knows where this guy can find a chin spoiler for his FXR (unless this post gets moved/merged/deleted, too).

I'm answering this here in the FXR section because this is where this thread reply belongs.

"www.CVOHARLEY.com>CVO social> Other Topics (Moderator: Forum Admin) > Topic: FXR frame spoiler"

Why in the world this topic is NOT in the FXR section?  CVO social?  Other topics?  What "other" bike, CVO or otherwise does this topic pertain to?  And this is certainly NOT a "social" question.

Anyway, yes, I have searched for a chin spoiler for our bikes for quite a while with no success.  Apparently all the manufacturers that once made chin spoilers/fairings for FXR's have stopped making them.  Rifle, Rick Doss, even Arlen Ness (don't like the Ness piece, anyway so no loss there) no longer offer them.  The only thing I can suggest is to keep watching ebay (you and I might be bidding against each other if one shows up ;D) or go to the swap meets or maybe the major bike rallies and search.

I also keep thinkiing that certain ones for Dynas or Softails might be easily adaptable but I doni't want to spend the money when I don't know for certain.  Some incorporate the spacing of the frame downtubes into the design and if that doesn't match with the spacing for the FXR fram there's a problem.

In a word, yes.

Neal, in all honesty and with no hard feelings, this threat indicates your somewhat exalted belief that membership on this board has some sort of high value.  Nothing personal, but I assure you, my sun doesn't rise or set with your posting board.  I have plenty to do elsewhere.

In sum your threat to me simply isn't one.

So allow me to save you the trouble about my account.

Take it easy, I've enjoyed my time here, it was nice to have met you in Maggie Valley and I wish you the best.  Ride safe.

The lil fairing does look nice on your bike.
And if anyone needs a new chin fairing for an fxr go to Rifle.com
They make mostly fairings but in cruising around their site I saw a little heading that said FXR parts.
They sell 2 items.
The chin spoiler which you can get primed, or in black for $40 more.
The other are side covers.
These are similar to the ness ones and look nice in the pictures.
I think I am going to buy the chin spoiler, I sent them an email.
I will update if I close the deal.
