OK last weekend on our I.B. ride ,i found out that the left lamp assembly would get tired and quite working .Every morning i would pull off the saddlebag and check the connector and the light was working ,by the end of the day left side was so dim it appeared to not be working .

Anyone had this happen ??

Checked the hot leads coming to the lamp several times with a test light and it lite up strong,didn't check the ground in the plug assemble though.

I had the same issue.  The tail light assembly was defective and replace under warranty.

Thanks Charles , I just called the local dealer and explained what was going on and they can see it on the 24th to verify and order part.!!!!!!!!

Hope i don't get a ticket before then.

The same thing is happening to me as well. Left side go out after on the riding for a long period of time. I had no idea this was happening until a few friends of mine went riding with me the other day. What gives?

Went for a breakfast ride this morning .( It's hot here)  Buddy pulls up beside me on the way back to town and says "your left taillight started working again" .Didn't work for 50 Miles to breakfast  but worked the last 20 miles back home.!!!!

Probably work till i leave the dealer next Saturday !!!!!

I hope for your sake the dealer has already seen the faulty light.  If you can't duplicate the problem there at the dealership, they most likely won't warranty the part.

Very strange that everyone seems to have the problem only on the left side.  Since the actual lights are basically the same on both sides, I still think it's quite possible there is more going on here than just the light itself being defective.  Insist the dealer check all the wiring in the fender, and not just assume the light itself is defective.  The light may be failing due to wiring faults or damage, and plenty of people have reported wires being damaged by contact with tires.

Just a thought.

Jerry, I agree. I have checked both power and ground to the left light several times with a good showing on a test light ( maybe should use multimeter next time it quites ).
