I know their has been a lot written about this topic... quick question. I "thought" I saw a bulletin somewhere that the Moco was replacing all defective D407 tires with 408's. Reason I ask... at 7K miles had bad cupping on both front and back. They replaced from with a 408 free of charge. replaced the back but i had to pay 30% based on wear. Ok, no biggie, got a bran new set of tires for cheap... been riding ever since and a few weeks ago noticed that familiar "whine" of cupping tires (about 7k on this set now) so when I got home, checked it and and that's when I saw they replaced the origional 407 with ANOTHER 407. Hmmmmm. Took it to dealer the other day and serv guy says, yea, that was a mistake we'll take care of it so bring it in Friday (today) went down to pick it up, nice new tire and they were just locking up so I rode off and headed home... I just checked it and AGAIN they put a new 407 on it...
They are closed for the day but I'm thinking what the heck... Is it dealer choice? I mean, I now have 14k miles on this bike and never had to pay for a new tire but in 7000 more miles I'm going to have the exact same issue... the fron that was replaced IS a 408 and it's just fine at 7k miles.
