I looked at one and saw.....you guessed it "Made in China" on it. Tell me it isn't so Weber!!!  :soapbox:

Awesome grill, but helluva markup to get to $1500-$1600 from the factory labor and materials in China. Sign of the times.  :2vrolijk_21:
Is true Joe! I thought I'd employ my American "new is better" philosophy and replaced a 10yr old Weber with a new model. Have regretted it since day one. Components are not built with the same quality. Still cooks ok but not nearly as well (in terms of evenness) as the "old" one.

Upside: My sister was the lucky recipient of my old grill. I tell her she got the better end of the deal on that one for sure :huepfenlol2:   :drink:

GH your weber cooks shrimp and clams just fine. Like Dawg, I use charcoal or logs almost exclusively. If I could no longer get parts for my 10 year old Napolian (built in Canada) I'm not sure which model I'd end up with. I've won a lot of awards on the old girl and am dreading the day I have to put her down.
