I bought Harley's "Toll Tote"  #91071-10. It has four magnets inside a neopreme back.  I use it for my camera pouch. It works great, won't come off and allows easy access to my camera.  I don't have to fumble with pockets or bags to get at it. And contrary to all safety precautions, it works great for "moving pictures".

there is also a similar item for the i-phone. 

 I am always a bit weary about magnetising the tank, what are everybodies school of thought on this one?

Did the packaging say anything about the little bag being waterproof?

It's got to leave some sort of mark...on a white bike you would not see the fine swirls and scratches it leaves, but on a darker bike......

That's true. I have a blue bike and after several times using it you can see the pattern. It's been hot here but I wouldn't think that should make it worse, unless the clear coat is that soft.

There have been posts complaining about how soft the clear coat on the new bikes is.

Don't know about it being waterproof. If it was raining, I had the camera put away.  I checked real close and don't see any marks at all. You have to make sure your tank is clean and there is no dust on it. So far, so good.
