iPod touch
« on: July 05, 2015, 10:35:41 AM »

Anyone have trouble with their Ipos touch? I have a 12 Streetglide CVO. I changed the nano to a touch. It worked great for a year or so. Now it will work for about 2-5 songs and then quit. The info is still on the radio screen but no sound. If you unplug the IPod and plug it back in it will come back on but after a short time it quits again. I can't figure out if it is a IPod issue or connection problem. Any advice is greatly appreciated

the best way to rule out that it is an ipod problem is to change back to your nano and see if the problem persists.  if it doesn't, then you found your culprit....

If you are using an adapter 32?pin to lightning, check that!
I always buy the apple connectors and yet I am on my fourth one.
Your description of the problem is identical to my experience.
Replace adapter chord with new one and problem goes away.

Thanks I'll replace the adapter and see if that fixes it

Tried replacing the adapter. Still not working correctly. I did notice today that the IPod gets really hot when plugged in to the cable. In fact I saw an overheating warning on the screen on the IPod

I sometimes have issues much the same. Usually when it's hot out. Have been thinking of taking the Ipod out of the holder and laying it lower in the bag. I use a touch also and when it craps the unit itself is friggin hot. Kinda thought because my bag lids are black. Who knows, mostly happens at fuel stops, go to restart and have to unplug and replug.
