Hard Miles 2 - The true story of the 2009 Iron Butt Rally!
« on: July 28, 2010, 09:44:29 AM »

Ever want an inside view to one of the most challenging events in m/c riding? Here's your chance. I just ordered my copy of the video... I've met the producer before, and he is well know in the l/d riding community, so I know it'll be well produced. Want to see what it's all about... here you go:

I've got no financial interest in the video... just wanted to share the opportunity to get it, as I appreciate any effort to tell the true story of Iron Butt events, especially from an insider's perspective.

Video ships this week; I'll let you know what I think when I get my copy!

Can't imagine 11,000 miles in 11 days. did the 1000 mi. in 18 hr and that was enough. But to do it for another 10 days would be unreal. They must be exhausted at the end.  Would be a good tape.

I combined the IBA 48++ (the lower 48, stopping in Mexico for chits & giggles, and through Canada to Hyder, Alaska in under 10 days) with the 10/10th (10 1000 mile days) back in '05 on my Goldwing. Yes, 10 straight days of riding 20+ hours a day is an ass kicker! BUT, before the "safety nazis" fire up their torches and start the burning at the stake... MOST of those who do these extreme rides train for them just like any other extreme athelete... starting with smaller rides and working their way up. You learn to minimize stops, eat on the bike, gas & go in under 7 min... and ride as efficiently as possible.
