oem sensors

A HD mechanic just told me the HD sensors can't read below 13.8 afr. Does anyone know if that is true?

Yes it's true but does that really matter? The truth is they do not read below 14.2 AFR on a 14.68 Stoich based fuel. What matters is will they read properly when the bike is operating in closed loop control and the answer to that is yes, they will.

not sure I understand all that but it sounds like it is a good thing. Thanks

If your using your Touring bike for Touring, and good fuel economy is important for cross country travel,
then the stock 02 sensors read in the perfect range. For most, that's a very good thing.

Just picked up a 2010 limited,,113 miles on her now...... Now I am researching what mods to put on her... Naturally want to get rid of the cat and put in an x pipe. Is there any truth to the rumor that removing the cat will damage the o2 sensors? The heat is awful... I plan on using my 4" SE touring mufflers that have Fulsac 2" baffles I installed in them. SE breather and not certain about fuel management...

My 07 Ultra 103 I put on TMAT... cooled her down, got 40mpg and ran great... but dang... the TBW TMAT is $1000.00.... Need to find another... If the o2 sensors cannot read below what is posted above how does the TTS, or any other fuel management system for that matter richen the AFR far enough to make a difference... Probably a dumb question.
