On my 2000 Road Glide I ran 140/18's on 4.25" rims front and rear. For that era it was a good look and handled great!! Picked up a 2009 RG, added Progressive 940's, drop in kit, and 18/21 combo on wheels. So far I am not happy with the 18/21 combo, front tire seems so stiff and makes the bike feel top heavy. I put the stock front wheel on to test something else last night, as soon as I got on the bike I could tell the difference. Less top heavy, felt better in corners, just overall better feeling.

Problem is, I am not a fan of the 130/18 on the front, it just looks like to small of a tire, to much fender well. Kind of thinking of a 140/18 Bias front with a 180/18 radial out back (had 2 different 200's in back, bike wobbles with the 200). Just not sure the 18/21 combo is for me. Is there a good 140 front / 180 rear combo that are both radials or bias so I don't have to mix and match, or don't worry about mixing?

Thanks for the input.

You should be ok to mix, as long as the Bias Ply is up front, Are you sure the issues with the 200 rear were with that tire, or a product of the 21" front. The reason I'm asking, is I'm about to do Metzeler 140/200 set up myself. Also, was your 200 rear a Metz, and what pressures did you run in it.

Actually now that I have the wheels I have heard from numerous people the 200 on a 5.5 inch wheel can cause instability. I am not sure why so many people run 200's with no problem and some have problems. Performance Machine sells 180's on 5.5 wheels, they don't reccomend the 200, had to many complaints about instability. HogPro also says they have had a lot of complaints about it, althoght they have sold a ton of 200's. My tires are Metzlers, as per there web page the 180 is hight speed rated and only about 1/2 inch narrower, don't think I will notice.

So you are going to do 140/18 front? That is what was on my 2000 glide, I was very happy with it. I will keep you posted on the 180, let me know what you end up doing.

Pirelli has a night dragon tire that may work. 180/18 rear and 140/18 front. Have been looking at them for my SESG. Have not purchased them yet. Trying to decide what to do. Replace OEM tires with OEM or something else.

personally I think the 140 up front fills the fender in so much better, the 130 always looked to small to me
