New Corbin for 09SERG Thanks iselbulls
« on: August 04, 2010, 07:05:18 PM »

I saw iselbulls new corbin with the grey snake/black leather back in late 08.  He was the first 09SERG to roll into the Hollister shop and they had to mod a set of 08 pans to fit his bike.  It looked sooo cool, and it stuck in my mind ever since.  Here is the same theme with a little twist in design.  What do y'all think?

Thanks all,

I bet it'd look great on the silver as well.  I'm also sending in the passenger back rest pad and the tourpak pad to be matched.

I finally gave up on my Mustang (big mistake), and ordered the Corbin Dual Tour from Jenni today.

Got it with baby gator seating, with a 2" wide strip down the centre in grey snake, and plain black vinyl sides. No tuck and roll and no welts. Also ordered it 1" closer, as I believe it normally puts you 2" back.

Decided on the smaller Gunfighter backrest, instead of the larger standard/ovalbac one (8"x8" vs 9"x11")- hopefully won't look out of proportion.

Both iselbulls and I have the Gunfighter rider backrest...to me, it doesn't look out of proportion and is MUCH softer and more comfortable than the stock (hard) SE backrest.  I also sent in my stock SE passenger backrest as well as the one off the tourpak for the same treatment.  Ordered the touring pillion too since the wife swears the hollywood is made of stone :nixweiss:  Can't wait to get them back, it should be stunning!

How much does Corbin charge to re-cover the TP pad?

Glad to hear your opinion on the Gunfighter backrest- sounds like I made the right decision then, because I think the regular one would take too much space away from the passenger. She complains now when I lean back on the Mustang backrest.

Do you use your Gunfighter pad as the passenger backrest as well? How does that look/feel for her? I plan on using it for myself when the TP is on (longer trips), and on shorter trips, I'd move the backrest back for the passenger- saves me having to buy a standard height HD backrest, since the CVO short one is too short, which is a bonus to the Corbin set up.

If you had pic's of the Gunfighter pad on the seat, that would be great.

Never mind on the pics, I see that the pics in this thread are of the Gunfighter pad.

Not sure what you mean...you can't use the rider's backrest to the rear for the passenger on the classic solo/pillion setup.  Yes, Corbin has backrest pads that will bolt up to the stock HD passenger backrest mount but they are wider than the Gunfighter so that's why I sent in my original.  Iselbulls did the same.

I was quoted $80 to recover each pad...a lot cheaper than buying one of theirs!

Oh, my mistake- on the Dual Tour you can use the backrest in either position.

Yes $80 is pretty fair.
