Went and put the first 500 miles on her new motor this past weekend.

When I got home Sun. night I thought I heard a noise in my primary. :nervous:  Turns out it was the compensator.........so getting a new compensator at 12k miles.  I'd of had 15k miles in the first year if they'd of not got in my way.

Bike is a year old today.

I'll rack 15k easily in the second year with the planned trips. :2vrolijk_21:

Terrie has over 1k on her new motor and I have a little over 300 since they put the new compensator in.  I had them go ahead and put a chrome inner primary in also, since they already had it all opened up. :2vrolijk_21:

The dealership called me a couple of days later and told me that the flywheels had "shifted" and that it was .0015 run out......that they had already contacted the MoCo and they were already making a new motor with her VIN number and it should be ready in about ten days to two weeks.

Dewey, they checked run out from both sides (I stopped by to see for my self, after talking with Jim) and they were both nearly the same .0015 on one side and .0014 on the other).   I was very impressed with their due diligenece in handling this matter and the speed with which they did it........the way it should always be done for everybody but rarely is.

Now why would Harley replace a perfectly good crank that only has a run out of .0015"?  I could understand it if the crank runout was .015"

There is an added zero there if the MOCO agreed to a new motor due to crank shifting. But all good they are resolving it on their dime.
