 I ordered and installed an 8 1/2 inch Klockworks windwheild last week.  I can't tell you the difference it makes with the radio and wind noise.  I am 6'2.  While I agree it doesnt look as good as the stock windsheild, it actually works as a windsheild.
I was tired of getting hit in the face with grasshoppers.  I will post a picture once I get the bugs off it.

I have been very happy with my 6.5" Clearview with the recurve.  at only 2.5" over stock it retains much of the same look and works great year round.  I'm 5 ' 10"
