I have a 09 cvo road glide and the finish is peeling on the starter.  Dealer won't replace just repaint.  So any way I figure if they just touch up the paint it will happen again.  Being very anal I will just replace it, thinking maybe chrome?  What do you guys recomend, whats the best starter I can install?

Give it a little time - these 110s eat starters and when it does fail they'll replace it under warranty.

I'm sure you will get a lot of oppinions but I would get the Harley chrome starter.  Mark at M and M Cycles said he has had a lot of returns in aftermarket starters but not HD..  FWIW

Stick with the HD starter. If the starter clutch goes(most common starter failure ) replace it with an aftermarket clutch from MES. They have a lifetime warranty.

When they replace it under warranty, pay the extra for the chrome 1.4 while you're at it. That'll solve the peeling problem quite nicely.

Thx guys I'll just leave it in untill it dies unless the dealer will replace it.  Then I'll upgrade to the 1.4 chrome.  Unless something better comes around.
