dyno tune + race tuner cost
« on: June 18, 2006, 07:53:03 PM »

Can anyone give me a ballpark figure of what the total cost should befor a race tuner and a dyno tune-up?  The dealer said they can't because it could take one hour or it might take 10 hours to get it right. Is this true?  Ted

I am not familiar with the price of the race tuner, but with the mods you have the stealer should be able to download a base map, and dyno it within an hour or so.
if he can't or won't, bring it somewhere else.

A good dyno tuner should do the work over a few hours and cost from 250-300 bucks.  If they try to tune your bike too fast it could overheat.  Make sure you find one that uses a fairly new dyno (like the dynojet 250i) and make sure he maps the air/fuel ratio to give you the right fuel to air balance.  See http://flhrsei.org/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?num=1149261656 for more info...
