where can i get the best deal on a efi race tuner. thanks. 2004 orange pumpkin.

If you can give us an idea of what area you're in, it may be possible to hook you up with one of the many dealers that deep discount the RT when combined with a dyno tune.  With very few exceptions you'll unfortunately get a second rate dyno job at an HD dealer, but a package deal may save you some bucks and get at least a marginal tune.

Surdyke, Chicago HD, Hales, lots of dealers give 20% off and of course no tax. You watch, HD will be a changin' thier tune in the next year or so.

CVOwner,

 I disagree.

The MOCO sets the "Suggested Price" for all goods and service's but it's up to each Dealer to set their own pricing policy's (always has and always will). A dealer is a Franchisee not a company store and therefore has control of his own business affairs. (Not to say the MOCO doesn't try to influence them).

The motorcycle market has changed recently with the pendulum swinging back in favor of the consumer and if this trend continues dealer's will become even more aggressive in their pricing or they will die a slow death at the hands of their competitor's.

A lot of Dealership's around the country are changing hands these days. Some foresee the end of the boom and are cashing in their chips, other's were too highly leveraged to start with and are bowing out while they still have the choice.........

 JMHO.

Fatboy,
You are 100% correct.   And it is up to all of us to not pay 100% MSRP that most dealers charge and order from the Chicago HD's of the world that give 20% off (with no out of state tax...)

I work with two dealers near me.

There is something to be said about working with the nearest dealer you get along with, there are times when he's the only guy that has your back.  The good guys will give you a discount.

I hear you, that's why I said "nearest you get along with" that might put you one or two dealerships away from your local dealer.

The two I work with are fortuantely my local dealer and one 100 miles away, there are 3 or 4 inbetween these two that I don't work with.

I guess if you can find a dealer near by you are fortunate.

Regardless of what Spiderman says (and he has white wall tires, so we know how OLD he is). Stay away from dealers for Dyno work, they pay there guys flat rate, they rush, are poorly trained etc. Find a good shop that needs to make a living from there work and is willing to do what it takes to do the job right the first time. Anyone capable of getting to this site on the net, is also capable of doing a download from a Race Tuner. Why pay anyone for this  service? Do it yourself. Then pay dyno guy for final adjustment or fine tuning.
