Replace Zumo 660 with 665 on flhtcuse6
« on: December 12, 2010, 03:43:55 PM »

My 2011 SEUC comes next week, and I've been searching for an answer to my question, but can't find it anywhere.   The 2011 comes with the Road tech Zumo 660 mounted up on the fairing, what looks to be in the fairing pad.  I've had a Garmin Zumo 665 for the past year and love it.  I like the XM, and the weather has come in very handy in avoiding a couple of hail storms.  So, I'd like to keep my Garmin branded Zumo 665.

My question is how to mount the 665 on my SEUC when it comes this Friday.  I know the cradle for the 660 won't allow XM, so I know that it has to be swapped out.  So, is it just that easy?  How hard is it to install the 665 and it's included cradle/cables using the existing fairing mount?  Has anyone done this to theirs?

The strange thing is that on Garmin's website both the 660 and 665 use the same motoryclcle and harness?? Not saying it works...but it's making me wonder :confused5:

after they announced the 665 they stopped making a 660 cradle newer ones will work with either a 660 or a 665. assuming yours is the newer model you should be able to use it
