FLTRSE REAR AXLE NUT TORQUE
« on: October 31, 2010, 09:30:29 PM »

I am using a 36mm socket with muffler removed and I am not clear on how much torque to put on the axle nut. I know what it calls out in the service manual but that is if you are using the HD tool and attaching your torque wrench to it. What would be the correct torque to apply if just using a socket with out the HD tool? I have not been able to find any reference info.

True-trac (frame brace co.) makes a slick wrench that accomidates a torque wrench or simple hand tightening for a belt adjustment while on the road, no pain in the ass muffler removal, slim and light, fits in your bags taking almost no room.

Thank you for your responses. For anyone who is interested I did locate a source for the tool through George's Garage. Part number 740060. www.georges-garage.com.
