Rinehart Slip-ons vs. Rinehart TruDuals
« on: March 22, 2006, 07:08:49 PM »

I'm trying to get some performance information. Assuming the installtion of an high flow air kit and SERT, what might the performance difference be between the Rinehart Slip-ons vs. Rinehart TruDuals?

Or can anyone give me any other differences such as sound, etc.

I understand the TruDuals eliminate the crossover pipe and reduce the heat on your right thigh so we don't need to discuss that issue.  Or the issue of looks.

Just trying to decide which direction to go.  Thanks for the help!

All that I can speak to is the true duals and I like mine.  99hp and 103tq with HD race tuner and stage one.  I have read people getting a few more hp's and a few more pounds of tq with this setup.  Good luck.

ezrider,

Which V&H slip-ons do you have?  I have the Basics on my  '04 Road King Classic and I would not want the sound any louder.  Not sure what I am going to put on my new Haze.  Plan to do the air kit and SERT.  I will probably check with the tuner at my dealer and see what they recommend.  Probably some SE's from Harley.  Besides the V&H's what is your set-up?  Has it been dyno'd and if so, what were the numbers?
Thanks for the help.

I'm with you on loud pipes.  But it is an individual thing.  I have always wanted somethng louder than stock but not too loud.  Like I said, my V&H Basics are as loud as I would want to go.  I believe the Ovals are a little quieter since they don't have the straight through baffles.

Do you have any dyno numbers on your bike?

Dakota another thing you want to consider is that the Rineharts are a step pipe which means that the header pipe
starts off as one size and then get step up a bit with a bigger pipe and then get step even with a bigger pipe so going
into the muffler is like a 1/2" larger than your stock pipe. Meaning that you can only use the Rineharts mufflers that come with the Rinehart header pipe.... You cant put your stock mufflers or your V&H on that header pipe.

Good point Bubba - most aftermarket mufflers don't fit the Rinehardt head pipes.  For those who might be interested, a friend at work just ordered a set of pipes that consists of the V&H Dresser Duals head pipes, with Rinehardt slip-on mufflers.  I'll see if he remembers where he ordered them if anyone's interested.
