Thundermax Electronic Control "brain", continually adjusts for various conditions such as temperature, altitude, air/gas ratio, etc.

From what I have read, it takes several hundred miles for the TMax to get itself dialed in. So as long as the base map is close, give it some time.

I had that issue initally on my 2010.  I run the Rinehart full system with a high flow air cleaner.  You have to run approximately 1 tank of gas, connect it to your PC, look at the stats and remap the bike if necessary.  You should be able to dial it in after no more than 3 refills depending how picky you are.  I have 78% of my points perfect on the front and rear cylinder, the other 22% excellent.  If that don't work, e-mail your map to the guys at TMAX and they can be very helpful and maybe suggest another map?

I assume you are using AutoTune functon.  If so, the trick to riding is to run the bike in various RPMs throughout the range, and hold steady about 5 seconds for the tuner to set each cell.  That is key--running at a constant RPM level for 5 seconds.  If you run through the range but dont spend much time in each, the cell will not get tuned optimally.

Thats why most will say ride the bike a lot, in order to get enough data for each cell.  But, its important to understand how the Autotune works to collect data for each cell, to opimize the data collection process.  Similar to other auto tuners as well.

You can start by riding at steady throttle and hit every 500 RPM for 5 seconds, and will build a pretty good base cal for the map.  JME.

Im a Tunder Max fan.  Been running it i think ~2 years.   I dont mess with it.  I just ride it.  No complaints.

I feel like it has paid for itself.

I do not have TBW on my 04,  I assume it functions just as well on those that do.

I assisted a friend and installed a TMax Auto tune on his '09 EGlide with FBW. We had running issues after installing a close base map and it turned out to be a bad front WB O2 sensor. After replacing the sensor we ran it, put two tanks of gas through it and it performed as expected. Smoother acceleration, less heat, more power.
