Idle Cable failure
« on: December 29, 2010, 09:16:44 PM »

There was a little too much play in the throttle on the 2006 SE Fatboy.  We couldn't adjust the slack out and finally realized the idler cable had internally failed.  The inner wire looked a little rusty at the failure point.  Has anyone else seen this?

Haven't seen one completely break in a long time.  Might have gotten close on the 2000 Road Glide though.  Year and a half or so ago was doing the spring time prep stuff to it and discovered the idle/throttle cables had stretched to the point of there being no adjustment left.
