Another Hero has passed

Major Dick Winters, who died on January 2 aged 92, was one of the US Army’s most revered servicemen of the Second World War; his exploits were later chronicled in the book and television series Band of Brothers.

Band of Brothers....I'm taking it to work to watch in the evenings. I've heard it a great show....apparently about a great man.

All WWII VETS were Heroes! Some moreso than others. I lost mine, one tough as nails Marine, an Okinawa Veteran, My Father, in 1992! RIP Gone in body, but living on in Spirit! TL

My WWII hero is still with me at 91. Flew B-24s in the Pacific.......64 missions. Talks about many things that happened in camp, refuses to discus anything with wheels up. Must have been hell. His pilot had a girlfriend named Beatrice Rose, don't know where the name of the plane came from.
