SESG2 front wheel chrome peeled inside tire causing flat
« on: May 28, 2011, 11:54:38 PM »

Went out in the garage tonight and I had a flat front tire  :'( Long story short, the inside of the wheel had corrosion between the chrome and the wheel itself. It had totally bubbled and flaked off causing the bead to leak. I have a ride planned next weekend, guy tried to clean all the chrome off, just checked pressure and it is down. What a bummer, with the holiday the guy said there is no way they will get a wheel in time for next weekend. Anybody else have this happen??

I've also got a slow leak in the front tire. Checked the valve stem, but didn't have time for them to pull the wheel. Will probably drop off this week to look at. I hate this happened to you, but am glad to know I'm not the only one. Bike sat for 5 days, and checked the pressure, was only 10 psi. I put 40 in it this weekend for a trip and it looks like it is losing 2-3 psi/24 hours.

Just for your own piece of mind, put some soapy water in a squirt bottle and spray the bead of the tire. That is how I found mine, I was surprised when I found the bead leaking in 4 different spots.
