2010 SESG Plate Options?
« on: February 15, 2011, 08:51:18 PM »

I know there are hundreds of post on this subject, but as I read through them I am still confused as to the options and work involved.  Can someone please clearly lay out the options with pictures and descriptions?

I don't have pics, but once you take off your stock plate, you'll see that it's pretty straight forward (the wiring is what would have been a challenge for me).....    http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=40248.msg620150#msg620150

I have the Kury on my 10 flhxse, and unless you want to drill the fender, which i did NOT, it is quite a challenge. Not drilling the fender requires major modification of the mount to make it fit close to the fender.  The wiring is not too bad as everything is available from Harley to allow it to plug it direct without changing from stock.

How did you do it?

"BUY A STEALTH 3"
I work at a machine shop so it made it easy for me to make it up as I went.  First, had to mill the mounting area off as it made the frame protrude 3/4 inch. Second, I milled countersunk slots for the 82 degree flathead screws to fit into. Third, I recurved the mounting plate to fit the fender better. Fourth, manufactured plastic standoffs to keep the mounting plate off the fender. Fifth, I enlarged the frame mounting holes to accept the new curve. Sixth, I purchased the wiring connectors from Harley. Seventh, Cut wiring off Kury and soldered the connectors on.  If I did it again, I would scrap the Kury mounting plate and fabricate one.
