Anyone use these starters and have experience worth sharing?  Was offered a new chrome piece for cheap.  But even cheap is too much work when you've got to gut the primary to change one if the starters aren't any good.

Been there, done that.......had nothing but problems with various starters over the years. Ended up with the stock Heavy Duty from Harley, been working fine ever since.
Not into chasing threads off the chrome, and having to rebuild the bike just to fit a starter. JMHO

X2...you cannot beat the stock HD Starters.

Jim puts the HD on for a living and Mark at M&M would rather sell the HD starter as he has a lot of returns on the aftermarket ones.  FWIW..

When I beefed my stock 96" motor in my 2007 Road Glide up to a 103" with 10.5/1 compression, I bought a black H-D Hi Performance 1.4kW starter from a member on the site here who was installing a chrome starter on his CVO. Well, I got the thing and hadn't had any issues with the stock issue H-D starter so I put the 1.4kW starter on the shelf until the orginal wore out. It's still on the shelf as I'm still waiting for the stock standard model to wear out.  And this without always remembering to pop my compression releases. 

So make this post X3 - - - you can't beat an H-D starter !!!!

That's all good enough for me.  Trust every one of you.  Had never had one in hand before so wanted to ask before suffering one of those times when a "good deal" really isn't.  Thanks.
