2009 CVO with Advanced Audio GPS System
« on: May 16, 2015, 11:00:54 AM »

The bike I just bought has this system. Looks hard to use and even harder to see. Has anyone used this setup successfully.

Or do I need to breakdown and buy a Road tech.

Thanks

I have that pos system on my '07 cuse2.  Just for chits and grins I did use it just once by entering the local dealer as a destination - about 8 miles from home.  As you said the display is more than worthless but it does send audio turn prompts.  But you cannot upload a route created from another source - all you can do is input points from the unit itself.  Get a Zumo 660/665/390/590 whatever.  You'll be much happier for sure.   :2vrolijk_21:

Yes you need to buy the RT Zumo 660 or 665, and forget the Advanced system, it is junk, I mean for a short and I mean short period it was a decent little add on to the bike, but if I remember correctly (I haven't used one in seems like 7 years or so) you have to have the CD in the drive for it to operate and just all around problem to operate, once other options became available. It also hasn't been updated, I believe since like '09, I know it's been a long time now.

Thanks guys. I had the same impression of it but thought well it doesn't hurt to ask. I can see a real GPS with no problem but the little screen on the radio would be a problem.

So it isn't even worth pulling the system and selling it if its that big of a pos.

Time to shop for a real GPS.

I use mine. It works well. I am glad it is on the bike. You got to adjust the "display" to see the screen better. :2vrolijk_21:
