First off, you can research the company at
www.hackercustomexhaust.com
Someone elses dyno sheet is on the site.
That being said, this particular pipe is available with a 9", 12" or 16" long muffler. The 9" is not tunable, and so I understand that to mean the 12" (mine) and 16" will accept the optional baffles. This pipe comes with the Track Tuned baffle, which is itself stepped in size, and produces 107 decibels. Additionally, you may select the Quiet baffle at 96 - 97 decibels, or the H-P Tuned baffle at 103 decibels.
By comparison, Hacker measured their engines at 80 decibels with stock pipes and wide open straight pipes in the low 120s.
I don't know which engine(88", 96"?) they arrived at these sound levels with, but I believe mine is a tad over the claimed 107. I broke out the calipers for a quick pause and the head pipes seem to come out at 1.65" ID, is that 1.75" OD? At my best try, the baffle ID is 2".
Now you know everything I do, except the sweet sound these make with a 110" behind them. I got the video up, but again the quality SUCKS. Looking for a way to use a decent microphone with my aged camera. Sooo much bass is lost that they sound slappy/tinny which is NOT accurate at all.
I'll link to mine, but please go to youtube and search "hacker exhaust" for better video.
The look sure is nice and perfect for the model. My only question would be on performance. The muff seems to be quite small in the photo. Obviously you did your homework on this. What else can you tell us ? I ask because I may need to buy something like this and custom fit it to the Choppah I posted some pics of elsewhere. Maine has gone overboard on motorcycle exahusts and even a ground up custom now has to have some kind of muffler. Baffles in pipes like the Yaffe X-Pipes I have are not good enough. Your exhaust looks perfect but I'd like to know more about it
Thanks
