They just closed I-80 over Donner Pass due to white out blizzard conditions and an accident where one died. :nixweiss:

The weather forecast for this Friday shows temps in the mid 70's. I can feel an illness coming on as I type................. ;)

Many many years ago when I 1st started working at BIW in Maine, a friend told me not to call in and say you were taking a mental health day.
"It's not on the list" he'd say. "What list" I asked. "Their list of legitimate excuses" he said. "So what is" I asked.  "Transportation is a good one " he told me. So I asked him a few more questions and commited it to memory for some fine spring day when I needed to go for a ride. It wasn't too long before the perfect day in May arrived for a motorcycle ride so I called in at 0600 to say I wouldn't be in that day. "reason for abscence" the secretary asked. " transportation" I replied. "What's the problem, is your car broken down" she asked. "Nope, it's just not going in the direction of work" was my reply.

My boss had a talk with me the next day   :D

I remember before going to work at FD and after turning in my resignation at previous job I called in one day with the excuse/reason of "Plan B". When asked by supervisor what "Plan B" was I replied.... You'll plan to be w/out me today because I'm not coming to work. :D :D :D

What a great day. Temps were perfect for riding. About 200 miles were logged today. I gotta say...my 'mental state' is much improved.  ;D

It might take more than a bike to ride to restore me to mental health. In years past I took "turkey days". If the weather was nice on a Tuesday then I would be out for the morning hunting turkeys. Crappy weather meant another day at the dental office.

You'd be surprised how many people will ditch the dentist but get down right irate if the Dr. cancels them.

Killing a big gobbler in the morning and riding till dark sounds like the medicine I need this Friday.

We are taking a Mental health weekend, and heading to Arkansas this afternoon for the W/E ( Going see what this Ar Dragon is all about. Maybe dip in some Hot Springs).

WOW...I hope I'm better when I get back, or I'll have to do it next weekend too...
