ECU HELP
« on: May 22, 2006, 10:40:21 AM »

I got the V&H True Headers w/the Ovals and a Big Sucker AC w/stage 1 download. I guess the RT is out since they are going by the wayside. I can't get Zippers to give me anything. I'm looking at the PC III (as a last option), is there a MAP for my setup or should I do the custom dyno route?

Thanks for any imput!

The Powercommander website (http://www.powercommander.com/807mapsbystk.shtml) has a map available for download (M807-228) that is matches yours except for a stock ECM. It would work until you can get it on a dyno to fine tune it. I recommend that if you want the bike to run its best that you always put it on the dyno to dial it in, even if a there is an exact map available as every bike is a little different.

Looks like that PC map for V&H Ovals with the stock ECU is for the 88" touring bikes.  Not sure it would work with our 103's.

Have you looked at the V&H FuelPak as an option?  They have a map for the TrueDuals, Ovals and a stock ECU, but not for the Stage 1 ECU.  Although you could call them and see.  V&H customer service generally leave something to be desired.  At least that's been my expereince.  Great products but customer service sure could improve.  Don't email them as you will never get an answer.

You have to time your call so you truly speak to the tech reps.  I had problems with the pro pipe and after I finally got to the tech rep, he cleared everything up and I had the correct stuff in less than a week.  I think it took me longer to get to him than it took to get the parts.  I also never got a reply to my email- still haven't.

You are correct, that map won't work very well. (Should have looked closer) It does not look like they have one close.

Why do you feel you need more??  The Stage I download is basically what I loaded from my SERT and it is running great with about the same setup (SE instead of BS, but I do have the K&N Filter on it).

Hey Tank, I have V&H Duals, Ovals and what is effectively the ANBS (SE backplate with big reverse taper K&N type filter) and I had my PCIII set up with the bike on the dyno

Bike had the stage 1 download already

I was thinking I might be able to copy my settings out of the PCIII, dump them to disk/file and send them to you.

Don't get too excited though - I gave it some more thought

Mine is a '05 SEEG - I think your injectors are bigger on the CUSE?

I assume this in turn means that they need a shorter pulse (relative to SEEG) to squirt the same volume of fuel

This would mean (I Think) that if you downloaded my map then the modified pulses to your injectors would be delivering too much fuel.

Bummer

However, on the positive side, I think the Stage 1 will work just fine - certainly you ain't gonna break anything - and if you take it easy you should be OK until the "Official download" arrives.

But the best way has to be to put it on the dyno with a tuner who knows what he is doing and tweak the last bit of power out while getting the AFR spot on

Cheers

Dave

I was told by my tech at HD to get er tuned because I was still not right since I put on the True Duals. I think he's correct as I still have issues with cough's, burps, and hesitation at times. I was trying to go with the ThunderMax but they have been putting me off since Feburary.. I found Sabin Performance in Dallas, so I guess I'll see if Jim over there can do a custom MAP and take care of my baby..

Thanks ALL for the responses.. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]
