I imagine it would be real easy to accuse me of living in the past, but I would really enjoy a Lakers Celtics Finals one more time. Doesn't appear to be very many NBA fans here.......

Too many guys watching out the window hoping the weather was better.  Got the Lakers game on hold on the DVR right now.  Had to take a restroom break and stop at the desk here on the way back.

I started rooting for the Lakers back in the days of Jerry West and Gail Goodrich.  Then through the Magic and Jabbar era and on to Kobe and Shaq.  And the lean years in between the high points.  The one constant was always rooting against the Celtics.  For no other reason than because that's the way it's supposed to be.  Same reason I root against the baseball Giants.

You've got it all wrong Don. You only root AGAINST the Celtics when they're playing the Lakers. If the Golden Boyz are out of contention you put on a kelly green shirt and become one of the Celtic nation. I do a much for LA. Once the Celts are out, it's Lakers all the way for me. Same thing in baseball. I a Yankee fan to the end but if the Yanks are in the dungeon and it's playoff time, I root for the BoSox. I suppose I'm talking to the wall here but you know, it's spring and hope springs eternal.

You know what my friend?  You're right.  And it happens without even thinking about it.  If the Lakers are out I don't root against everyone.  If my guys can't do it there's no one else I'd rather see wave the banner than the arch nemesis and biggest challenger.

It's not true everywhere.  I always want the baseball Giants to lose.  And lose ugly.  But it's not that way with the Celtics.  They do get that respect.
