2003 SERK Stock mufflers?
« on: January 11, 2011, 10:35:12 AM »

All,

I bought my bike about four years ago used.  I thought it was pretty much stock.  Now I'm finding things have been changed.  Does anybody have a picture or know what the stock mufflers look like? Or a part number would do. I looked at a lot of internet pictures and the mufflers are all different.

Thanks
Kenny

Dartman,

I sure hope you didn't go out and take them off the bike for a picture ;D .  But thanks.   Thats not what is on my bike or at least the tend caps are different. I guess I'm going to have to pull the mufflers off and look for a part number.

Thanks again.

Part number for the stock mufflers on a FLHRSEI2 is 65254-00A.  That's straight from the parts catalog for that bike.

Kenny that was a picture from my stash off an 03  CVO RK as already stated the part number is 65254-00, if they are original you should be able to read the EPA Stamp with a mirror and flash light. Possibly just the end caps were changed.

SCRM-R

Thanks for the part number.

Dartman,

I used a mirror to look for the EPA stamp..  I found "Kerker" stamp on the mufflers. Guess that answers my question. I have own the bike for four years and never saw that.

Thanks again to both you guys for replying

Supertrapp/Kerker has made alot of the mufflers that MOCO sold and sells as SE.  Could the muffs in Dartman's pic be made by them?

Yes,  But these are not Screamin Eagle Mufflers, they are Original Equiptment EPA approved Touring Mufflers that were installed at the factory on a Screamin Eagle Motorcycle, baffles are welded in place and the end caps will not interchange with the Aftermarket Supertrapp, Kerker off road Versions. CVO Mufflers never have a brand Name or Logo Affixed if his have Kerker imprinted on the Barrel they would be aftermart off road mufflers with either a K-3 baffle or a Mikuni PAT baffle.

Hi,

And that is the question now, is it the K3 or the Mikuni?  Which for the mild engine build that I'm doing, I don't know how much of a difference the K3 or Mikuni will make.

All I'm doing is High Flow A/C, Already on the bike.
Kerker Slipons (K3 or Mikuni  Baffles) which is on the bike.
Super Race Tuner.
Screaming Eagle cam plate upgrade.
TW21 or HTC 300-2 cams.

The PAT (mikuni pass a truck) is a short almost reverse cone type core. That was designed by Joe Minton
The Kerker K3 is is a full length, one long perf tube core with a diverter welded in the outlet end to reduce noise a little.

Saw this post cruising the site . . . I have the original mufflers that came on my 03 SERK in a box if you still need a pick . . . V&H slips ons were installed right after the SERK was purchased in 03 . . . been in the box every since.  I can take them out of the box and shoot you a pic if you still need it.
